Yee Jan Bao is an Oakland-based painter. He serves on the faculty of the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, and has previously taught at the Rhode Island School of Design, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has received grants from the Gottlieb Foundation, Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

He has exhibited broadly across the country, including solo exhibitions at P.S. 1 in New York, and the City of Chicago Cultural Center.
