Mark Wolfe Contemporary Art is pleased to present Immaterial, a group exhibition of new works exploring the use and representation of textiles in contemporary painting.

The application of pigment to canvas or linen is, in essence, textile art. With this in mind, featured artists Michelle Blade, Bryson Gill, Rachel Kaye, Sarah Thibault, and Jacob Tillman here offer their respective takes on what may prove to be a false genre dichotomy. The paintings on display engage with textiles encountered in their everyday forms, printed fabrics for clothing, woven rugs, macrame, and of course stretched canvas.
