Utilizing geometry as an underlying matrix, Gudrun Mertes-Frady explores the essential forms of clarity and structure, seeking a balance between physical and psychological presence. Through manipulation of light (using metallic pigments) and color, her paintings are imbued with a sense of calm and beauty.

Originally from Cologne, Germany, Gudrun Mertes-Frady lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
