Sarah Thibault’s paintings explore the artifice of antique shop interiors, and breathe life into the sculptures, vases, and chandeliers within. Each painted object is imbued with a spectral quality through texture, color and light. Through her work, Thibault combines her interests in the spectacle of commerce and ideas surrounding the aesthetics of power and indulges in the hedonism of painting.
Born in 1980, Sarah Thibault is from Minneapolis, MN. She is a recent MFA graduate from the California College of the Arts, and has exhibited at galleries in Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Paris, London, and San Francisco.
